Dia del Mar

The 23rd March is the day of the sea in Bolivia; a few hundred years ago they lost their coastline to Chile, and are not happy about it, one day every year they have parades and demonstrations to express this. And of course nothing is saved from the kindergarten in Uspha-uspha.

Firstly we took the bus to another kindergarten in Cochabamba to take part in the parade. We managed to fit about 60 people in a bus with 25 seats...

and the kids loved it, they were so excited and screamed every time we went under a bridge.
Alond with the other kids we paraded round the block in our sailors outfits and paper hats.

Kinder doing some great marching

Then on Monday we commemorated the day of the sea in the kindergarten.

From prekinder we had a very exciting introduction.....

Every class made a poster...

Inicial 2 painted their hands with the Bolivian colours...

Chilean and Bolivian soldiers...

And a sailors dance...

So what does Bolivia want?
They want their sea!!
