Volunteering with Proyecto Horizonte

The commitment and never-ending work of so many of our volunteers has played a key role in our success so far. We are always on the search for volunteers to help us locally, but also internationally. For certain positions, we are able to offer compensation per local standards.

Short-term volunteers have in the past worked within the following areas: social work research within the community; assisting in the kindergarten and school; teaching English, computers, sports and arts; working with the women from Tantakuna; and much, much more. You can read about some of the experiences on this volnteer blog.

We are also looking for interns. The prerequisite for internships with Proyecto Horizonte is having basic Spanish language skills, being responsible, creative, and highly self-motivated. Living conditions would be basic. Interns are able to work across all areas of the project, and on specific tasks depending on knowledge, experience, and length of stay. Internships offer excellent opportunities to live and work in Bolivia, surrounded by a unique and rich culture. Aside from adding to life experiences, an intern role offers the chance to promote our work and help realizing our vision for the community of Ushpa-Ushpa. For more information, please contact us.

If you’re based outside Bolivia, we seek your assistance with organizing and coordinating our smaller one-off projects. Here are some ways to help: organization of events as required, maintaining information on the website, translation services, and the like. We’re grateful for new ideas, for example, if you would like to organize your own fundraising activity, or donate the holiday collection from your company, or taking our online communication to the next level by exploring possible areas and ideas on how we can be featured more prominently.

From all of us here at Proyecto Horizonte, thank you for taking the time to consider all options of how you can help, and we look forward to hearing from you.
